From Monday 28th Feb Discovery Nursery School will be extended our opening hours to 8:00 am to 5:30pm, giving your children more hours of discovery, learning, friendship building and play which will also offer our parents and carers added flexibility in the busy week!
To book please call us on 02392174280 or email discovery.nursery@icloud.com
Come and meet our friendly staff team for an open day of fun and discovery. Prospective parents can visit with their little ones and see all the fantastic resources we have on offer and what we do to build your children’s mind’s and hearts on their journey to school.
We will have activities set up that everyone young and old can join in with and we will be able to give you a tour of our facilities. At Discovery we welcome explorers aged 2 to 4 years old and can provide you with information on how to book your child with us, including funded spaces.
We also invite our current parents to visit us with the children that already attend and share some time with their key workers in a fun and informal day.
The children recently enjoyed an arrgh-mazing pirate week. They experienced the pirate life by dressing up like pirates, walking the plank in the garden and practising their balancing skills. They dug for treasure using spades and magnets, exploring the way magnets react to metals. They also sang and danced to pirate songs, sailed boats and made telescopes!
We promote oral health in a range of ways year in year out. We educate our children and families, through displays, activities and more. Below is a link the NHS website with guidance for new parents about how to approach their own child’s oral health and where to find an NHS dentist.Â
While we are busy getting everything ready for the new year we thought we’d share with you some of the areas that are being created ready for your little ones to explore!
In our cosy garden children get fresh air and room to stretch their legs while continuing their indoor playing and learning amongst the minibeast and birds!
Children get to explore arts, crafts, water, sand, music, dance and more. They then get together at set times to refuel and recharge those busy minds and bodies. Learning self-care skills and independence before, during and after mealtimes and having access to fresh water whenever they need to.

SENSATIONAL FINDING OUT LAB
Children get to explore like scientists in our lab, learning mathematical skills as they experiment. Best of all this space transforms into a sensory den where children can relax and use their senses to form sensational minds.
